Is there parking available?
There is parking available at meters across the street from the venue in addition to a few other parking lots nearby. Municipal parking is free in Hamilton on Sunday but private parking lot fees may apply.
I don't have a friend to come along with me, is this event something I can enjoy on my own?
Most definitely. This is a safe space for you. There are so many people who share your same hesitations, and we recognize that. We want you to leave the event having felt a new sense of connection with the community - through food, conversation, and shared experiences.
My hair isn't natural, can I still attend the event?
Y E S! There are no restrictions on the way you choose to express yourself through your hair. Everyone is welcome.
Will there be tickets available at the door?
We will have a limited number of 3PM ENTRY Tickets available at the door! Cash only.

Hair Demo:
You can look forward to learning from Elisha Gotha, who has been a licensed curly hair expert + stylist for over 8 years. Elisha specialize in curl health, education, and enhancement, and will be performing a live demonstration!

Mark Adams has been a part of the hair care industry since 1990 and has been a Salon owner, Beauty Supply Owner, Manufacturer and Distributor for various brands over the years. Mark co-founded Ashton Adams Ltd., which is a multi-faceted Canadian based company with divisions in the Hair Care and Entertainment Industries. Mark has Jamaican and Vincy roots, with deep ties to Nova Scotia, the birth place of his two children.
STACHEN FREDERiCK
Stachen Frederick has over 20 years in the field of community/program development. She is Founder of BrAIDS for AIDS, a not-for-profit to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS in the African, Caribbean and Black Communities in Canada and internationally through a culturally relevant practice of hair braiding. She is also the Executive Director of Weston Frontlines Centre: a youth charity in Toronto. She is a consultant providing grant writing workshops and grant coaching sessions for her clients. Her work has been recognized by L’Oreal Paris, 100 Accomplished Black Women Network, Black History Ottawa, and many more. She is also the recipient of scholarships and accolades in academia, and just recently a scholarship winner for her Executive MBA at Ivey Business School.
TAMARA GARRAWAY
Tamara is the face behind Texture Treatment, a brand built specifically for naturally textured hair. Whether wavy, curly, coily or kinky, she specializes in restoring and bringing out hair's best potential. Tamara is a licensed Hairstylist who believes that all hair is good hair as long as it is healthy. She offers product regimen guidance in addition to her maintenance services including Trims and Treatments. Tamara's goal is for all her clients to achieve self-love and appreciation for their hair!
